Welcome to Impact Baseball! My name is Jayson York, I am a pastor at a church in West Chicago, and I serve the program as the chaplain. My role is to help every boy who is part of this program to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and to grow in his knowledge of the Bible. Maybe you have found this page because you are searching for a new program, or maybe you are part of Impact already. Either way, we are glad you are here and looking for some information.
Our program is designed to be a competitive baseball program (which we are) that also incorporates the Christian faith into all we do. We recognize there are a lot of great baseball programs in our area, but we believe that there are many who want to play for an organization that puts Christ first both on the field and off.
Our discipleship philosophy can be found here. This page is designed for updated information regarding our current initiatives. There are three main areas that we focus on, and you can check back for information here regarding these points.
1. Bible Studies
Our teams work through a pre-planned Bible study over the course of the season. Coaches and parents are encouraged to help the boys learn about God’s Word through simple devotional studies before or after practices.
2. The Dugout
The Dugout is an FCA Huddle with a baseball twist. We meet on the third Sunday of every month for a time of food, fun, and a lesson from God’s Word. Specifics for this upcoming year will be shared soon.
3. Church Attendance
Because the place where true and deep discipleship takes place is in the local church, our hope for the boys and their families in the Impact program is that everyone would find a solid church to attend if you are not already doing so.
